LAUSANNE, Switzerland - SportAccord Convention is pleased to announce a new Gold Partnership with SPORTFIVE, the leading international sports marketing agency owned by the French media group Lagardère Unlimited, ahead of the event in Saint Petersburg, Russia, May 26-31, 2013.

The partnership comes at a time when SPORTFIVE is working to expand its relationships with international clients and provide additional support and extend its range of services. The agency, which recently celebrated 25 years, has a long-standing reputation of working with international rights-holders and is currently marketing the media rights to the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and Rio in 2016 in 40 European countries, further to its agreement with the International Olympic Committee.

"SPORTFIVE International has a long-established record of helping the international sports movement to fulfil its commercial goals, working with leading rights holders including the International Olympic Committee.

"The Gold Partnership with SportAccord Convention is a natural fit to help SPORTFIVE develop more relationships with international sports rights holders and build their business over the coming years," said Nis Hatt, SportAccord Convention, Managing Director.

"SPORTFIVE’s knowledge of sports marketing business is unsurpassed and we believe that this partnership will add value to our stakeholder federations by helping them to understand the wide range services an agency such as SPORTFIVE can offer to enable them to leverage their rights."

SPORTFIVE delegates have participated at previous SportAccord Conventions where they have recognised the growing importance of this event over the years as an excellent platform for engaging with the power-brokers at the top of the world of sport. Moving forward, SPORTFIVE has decided to significantly increase its presence at this year’s Convention in Saint Petersburg through its Gold Partnership and thereby share with the SportAccord Convention community its proven industry experience, media and marketing skills and new increased range of innovative agency services. Management Board members from SPORTFIVE International will travel to Saint Petersburg, along with representatives from the Media, Digital and Marketing departments, to exchange and engage with the wide selection of delegates.

"The SportAccord Convention has been on our radar as a leading industry event for many years and colleagues have traditionally valued their time spent at previous editions. This year, as we continue to build on our experience and develop new business, the timing is ideal for us to team up with SportAccord Convention and become a Gold Partner," said Shaila-Ann Rao, Chief Executive Officer of SPORTFIVE International.

"As a company we are committed to delivering top quality services to international sports rights holders, broadcast partners and brands, amongst others. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to grow and develop the future interests of the international sports movement and we are very much looking forward to working closely with SportAccord Convention for this event."

SPORTFIVE is the fifth and final Gold Partner joining Contemporary Group, Macau Sport Development Board, PwC and Sport Event Denmark for SportAccord Convention, which is taking place in Saint Petersburg from May 26th to 31st, 2013.
