"Power vacuum : opportunities for agencies in Latin America"

There are few regions with so many opportunities for sports agencies as Latin America. The

upshot of the US Department of Justice’s investigation into Fifa members shattered the

existing ecosystem. A number of major football properties have returned or will soon return

to the market, and increasingly transparent federations – both national and across the

region - are looking for partners. The panel will explore where these opportunities lie.

"OTT Sports and the Americas"

OTT services continue to grow in influence and popularity across North, Latin, and South

America. What is the current state of OTT sports across the Americas? How are sports

networks that rely heavily on subscriber fees from cable operators balancing the desire to

reach new fans without impacting cable rights fees? And how is the OTT experience

evolving to become richer and more attractive to sports fans?

"VR and AR in the Americas"

There are two revolutions taking part in sports broadcasting: the launch of Virtual Reality

coverage of live sports events and the integration of Augmented Reality graphics within a

TV or cable broadcast. Both require new workflows and new technologies but both also

create new ways to reach sports viewers and create a tighter relationship. Experts from

the Americas discuss the role VR and AR will play in the sports industry.

LaLiga PRESENTATION" - 16:00-17:00

"Digital Strategy, a Key Factor to increase the Value of Audiovisual Rights"

LaLiga's work on digital and audiovisual issues is based on the principle of an immersive

experience. Fans demand content 24 hours a day, seven days a week, meaning that one

of the key factors for increasing the value of LaLiga's audiovisual rights is its digital

strategy. Generating engagement with fans from around the world and ensuring that every

match gives them an immersive experience is a priority for LaLiga, which is focussing its

efforts on combining the most advanced technology with a digital strategy designed to

carry its audiovisual product to every corner of the globe.

During his presentation titled ‘Digital Strategy as a key factor for increasing the value of

audiovisual rights’, the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, will set out the cornerstones of

the path which LaLiga is constructing to achieve internationalisation based on continuing to

increase its global presence through the digital realm, therefore increasing the value of its

rights. This path is one which allows fans to enjoy a global experience: a 360° experience.

Speaker: Javier Tebas, President, LaLiga
