SportAccord Convention 2018 Registration Now Open -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) SportAccord Convention has opened registration for the 16th edition of the event to be held in Bangkok next year. Click here to register.

The convention will commence with the new "CityAccord" segment.

Formerly named "City Forum," the new program is designed to bring together cities, event organizers, sports commissions and more to discuss insights on hosting world sporting events under the theme 'Making Relationships a Priority'.

CityAccord will be preceded by City-to-City, an event focused on youth sports programs and activations.

Plenary sessions of the event will be held on the first two days of the seven day convention. Beyond the opening sessions, delegates will also have the opportunity to attend exhibition halls along with numerous workshops.

The conference will once again feature MediaAccord.

The MediaAccord conference gives a space for media and federations to collaborate on best practices to win over fans and build a strong online presence.

The one day LawAccord conference will be held in conjunction with the event again next year.

During LawAccord, delegates will hear the latest updates from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

SportAccord Convention 2018 is set to take place from April 15-21.

Key Leaders in Sport to Speak at Host City 2017

The speaker line-up for the 2017 Host City conference in Glasgow includes key leaders in sport from around the world.

WADA president Craig Reedie, FIBA secretary general and IOC member Patrick Baumann, USOC executive board member Angela Ruggiero and FIS/AIOWF secretary general Sarah Lewis are only some of the 16 leaders expected to speak at the conference.

Host City will take place at Glasgow's Technology and Innovation Center in Scotland. Longtime partner EventScotland is the support organizer for the event.

The conference intends to focus on how cities and organizers can work together to bid and host sustainable events. Events can range from sports championships to business expos and more.

"Host City is renowned for the highest level of speakers, content and networking. And as the event continues to grow, we ensure that it delivers the best for our large and increasingly diverse community," event director Ben Avison said in a statement.

Host City 2017 will take place from Nov. 28-29.

TAFISA World Congress Speakers Announced

Former U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon will address delegates as the keynote speaker for the 25th Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA)World Congress inSeoul.

Under the theme "Mission 2030: For an Active World" TAFISA intends to"pave the way to influence people, policy and practice to reintroduce physical activity as part of our daily lives the world over by 2030," according to their website.

The congress will also address sub-themes including "Building Strong and Good Governance","Next Generation = Active Generation" and more.

India Hosts International Sporting Goods Show

Sport India 2017 - the 5th India international sporting goods show - will take place inNew Delhi from Aug. 22-24.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, state governments and around 70 sports federations are expected to attend.

The event will be split into four groups, each covering various aspects of the sports industry. Groups include fitness, world adventure, golf and infra-tech.

Accessories, sports wear, fitness equipment, raw materials, technology and more will be on display for delegates to browse during the many exhibition sessions.

A pickle ball tournament, crossbow shooting activities and a sports fashion show will also be held during the three day event.
