Sponsor Spotlight: Wasserman Media Developing New Division to Market Women in Sport

(ATR) Sports marketing and talent management company Wasserman Media has announced plans for a new division that will focus on marketing women in both sports and entertainment.

With headquarters in Los Angeles, the sports and entertainment agency was founded by entertainment executive Casey Wasserman in 1998. Wasserman is also chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic organizing committee.

The new division ,"The Collective", will have the intent of linking companies, consumers and fans with women in sports. The division will aim to produce different strategies, insights and ideas collectively for talent brands and properties that are focused on empowering women.

"The Collective is the culmination of decades of successful work representing women and helping brands connect to women. We have both a responsibility and an opportunity to utilize our expertise and network to empower women. With the backing of all of Wasserman and Casey, The Collective aims to contribute to that goal while moving our industry forward," said Executive Vice President of The Collective Thayer Lavielle.

Wasserman represents 150 female athletes which include many of The United States National Team members with Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan amongst Wasserman’s portfolio of clients.

The announcement was made while the USWNT members are in the process of suing The United States Soccer Federation for gender discrimination, and also working to achieve equal pay.

The Wasserman Foundation ,which was also founded by Casey Wasserman, has pledged $1 million for funding of charity programs that promote growth and expanding women in sports and entertainment.

Petroperú partners with Lima 2019 as official fuel supplier

(ATR) Petroperú has partnered with the organizing committee for Lima 2019 as the official fuel supplier for the Pan American and Parapan American Games.

Petroperú will provide fuel for the complete bus fleet for the Games across the duration of events.

Petroperú also sponsors four athletes participating in the games : María Fernanda Reyes (Surfing), Dunia Felices (Swimming), Andy Martinez (Athletics) and Efrain Sotacuro (Athletics).

"We’re delighted to count on the support of Petroperú in hosting a memorable Games. The partnership is a key component in ensuring that our transport system that meets the needs of the continent’s best athletes." said Lima 2019 President Carlos Neuhas.

The fleet for Lima 2019 will consist of 350 busses transporting athletes along with sport delegations which will be marked with Petroperú decals including a slogan that will publicize the company as "Official Fuel Supplier of the Lima 2019 Games."

To celebrate the partnership, Neuhas along with President of Board Directors Carlos Paredes filled the first Lima 2019 bus with the official fuel at Estación de Servicios San Diego.

Also, Petroperú will hold ticket contests for the games along with developing activations held at competition venues and dispersed around Lima.

Petroperú will provide fuel for the busses from two of their locations which are central to the Pan American Games: Villa El Salvador and Callao.

Villa El Salvador is the Athletes Village hosting 10,000 guests in 1,096 apartments which is in the same area as Villa El Salvador Sports Center housing gymnastics and Karate during the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and later boccia and wheelchair rugby during the Parapan American Games.

Callao is home to the Callao Sports Center which will host the volleyball competitions, and the Miguel Grau Coliseum which will feature wrestling for the Pan American Games, and goalball during the Parapan American Games.
