ICU Renews Sponsorships
The International Cycling Union is sticking with a couple of long-time sponsors for another four years.
Cycling’s governing body signed agreements with Japanese sports equipment company Shimano, Inc. and Italian clothing firm Santini Maglificio Sportivo through 2012.
Shimano has been an International Cycling Union sponsor since 1999. The company provides technical services for world championships and technical assistance at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and the 2008 Games in Beijing.
“Shimano is definitely one our federation’s most loyal and prestigious partners,” said UCI president Pat McQuaid in a statement.
Santini Maglificio provides winners’ jerseys for world championships and leaders jerseys for the World Cups.
“Santini has become an integral part of the jerseys worn by the greatest riders participating in UCI events and series,” McQuaid said.
Sochi 2014 Claims $35 million in Paralympic Sponsorship
Sochi 2014 has signed $35 million in sponsorship deals for the 2014 Winter Paralympics, according to Sochi 2014 president and CEO Dmitri Chernyshenko .
Chernyshenko made the announcement at a ceremony celebrating the International Paralympic Committee’s 20th anniversary on Friday.
Sponsors for the 2014 Winter Paralympics include airline Aeroflot, banking services company Sberbank, telecommunication firms Rostelcom and MegaFon and oil company Rosneft.
Chernyshenko said the new partners come from sectors “including oil, telecommunications and air transport .”
New Equestrian Sponsorship Program
The 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games has developed a series of sponsorship packages targeting Kentucky businesses.
“Preferred Partner Packages” range from $2,500 to $10,000; benefits rights to use 2010 marks and website exposure, among others.
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are set for Sept. 25 to Oct. 10, in Lexington, Kentucky.
