Visa Sponsors Paralympic Hall of Fame Induction

Visa will sponsor the third Paralympic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Paralympic Hospitality Center in Whistler today.

“Visa is again proud to be the presenting sponsor of this unique celebration honoring the achievements and spirit of Paralympic athletes and their coaches,” Antonio Lucio, Visa’s Chief Marketing Officer said.

“As the partner of the Paralympic Hall of Fame, we understand the power of the Paralympic Movement and its exceptional ability to bring people, communities and nations together in peaceful sports competition.”

Cross-country skier Tanja Kari, alpine skier Chris Waddell and biathlon and cross-country skiing coach Rolf Hetich will be inducted into the PHF.

The inductees were nominated because of their performance, sportsmanship and participation in community service.

The IPC first inducted athletes into the Paralympic Hall of Fame in 2006.

Procter & Gamble Continues Program for Paralympics

Team USA sponsor Procter & Gamble will continue its “Thank You Mom” for the 2010 U.S. Paralympic Team.

The program brings mothers of Team USA athletes to watch their children compete at the 2010 Winter Games by helping with the cost of travel and accommodations.

“The continuation of the P&G ‘Thank you Mom’ program that began in Vancouver last month at the Olympic Winter Games will allow us to extend our appreciation for the moms of the U.S. Paralympic team,” P&G ChiefMarketing Officer Marc Pritchard said.

P&G will also donate $1 to Team USA, up to $100,000, for every mother thanked on its website www.thankyoumom.com.

… Coca-Cola will continue its Pin Trading Center at Hudson’s Bay Company through the Paralympics.

...The United States Ski and Snowboard Association is suing its sponsor, Action Sports. The USSA claims that Action Sports failed to pay a $175,000 sponsorship fee and wants 30 percent of the advertising revenue from its sponsorship.
