ATOS Extends IPC Sponsorship

Atos announced an extension of its sponsorship of the International Paralympic Committee through 2016.

The agreement continues Atos’ "Worldwide Paralympic IT Partnership" for the Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Paralympics. It also brings "Atos business technologists" to the IPC Athletics World Championships, IPC Swimming World Championships and IPC Shooting European Championships.

Atos will continue its involvement in the Agitos Foundation as part of the agreement.

The international IT services company will also make Information Technology products and services available to all IPC sports, as well as manage the IPC website.

""There is no doubt that the expertise and experience of Atos Business technologists has had a positive impact on the development of the Paralympic Movement," said IPC CEO Xavier Gonzales.

"Atos has helped the IPC to grow and offer better services to our members, National Paralympic Committees, athletes and competition organisers. We are delighted to extend our partnership with Atos and look forward to working together to further strengthen the organisation."

ITTF Adds New Long-Term Sponsor

The ITTF agreed to a new four-year sponsorship deal with China Unicorn.

The Chinese telecommunications company becomes the third long-term sponsor to partner with the ITTF. The ITTF recently signed sponsorship deals with LIEBHERR and Enlio.

China Unicorn will sponsor the 2014 ITTF World Cup, 2014 World Tour Finals, 2015 World Table Tennis Championships and the 2016 World Team Table Tennis Championships, as per the agreement.

China Unicorn has been a sponsor of the ITTF since 2006.

"TMS is pleased to have been able to convince China Unicom and its representatives to extend the current one year agreement into a multi-year agreement," said TMS Managing Director Anders Thunström.

"The long-term commitment gives us a better chance to serve China Unicom with a long-term vision, it also gives both parities some kind of assurance that we have a deal in place for the next four years, which benefits both parties."

AIBA Secures TV Rights Distribution

Total Sports Asia will distribute the television rights for AIBA events in 2013.

TSA has been AIBA’s media partner since 2010.

The AIBA World Championships, European Championships and World Junior Championships are the events that will be distributed via the partnership.

"Our company has a long and successful history with the sport of boxing and we distributed the previous World Championships to a record number of countries," said TSA Chief Content Officer Julian Jackson.

"We are delighted that AIBA has chosen us once more to be their media partner. AIBA are a great forward thinking organization and we are very proud to be associated with them."

"Unprecedented Agreement" for Brazilian Paralympic Committee

Caixa Econômica Federal, a state-owned bank of Brazil, signed an "unprecedented agreement" with the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.

The bank will invest around $60.6 million dollars into 13 Paralympic sports ahead of the Rio 2016 Paralympics.

The sports that will receive funding are athletics, powerlifting, swimming, wheelchair fencing, shooting, soccer, boccia, goalball, sitting volleyball, sailing, table tennis and rugby.

The sponsorship comes on the heels of a new Brazilian law that guarantees that two percent of gross proceeds of federal lotteries go to the Brazilian Olympic and Paralympic Committees.

"Caixa is a great partner and has always stood by the Brazilian Paralympic Movement," said CPB president Andrew Parsons.

"It now further strengthens its presence by supporting 13 sports on the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games program. This is a sign that we are on the right track."

New Zealand Olympic Committee Partner

The New Zealand Olympic Committee and Conceptum Sports officially signed their partnership agreement during the ONOC assembly in Navi, Fiji.

The partnership was agreed upon earlier this month.

Conceptum will provide logistical help for the New Zealand Olympic Committee during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, as well as the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
