The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee today unveiled the design of its souvenir tickets for the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. The souvenir tickets draw heavily on Sochi 2014’s brand, using the Games’ symbols and its "patchwork quilt" imagery - which represents the diversity of Russia - to create a unique and collectable souvenir of Russia’s first Olympic Winter Games.
Souvenir tickets are only available to spectators who buy online at tickets.sochi2014.com and select the "Delivery" option. This means that fans in Russia wanting to get their hands on one will need to act quickly, as "Delivery" will only be available until November, 15, 2013. Fans outside of Russia wanting to buy souvenir tickets for the Games should contact their local National Olympic Committee or its Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) for more information.
The first two elements of the souvenir ticket’s design that will strike fans will be the prominently placed sports pictogram and the tickets colour, as all tickets will be colour coded according to one of the five venue colour concepts, which is designed to help fans navigate their way to the correct venue at Games time.
The front of the souvenir ticket will display the name of the venue and event for which the ticket was purchased, the five Ring Olympic symbol, the word mark "Sochi 2014", and the slogan of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games in English - "Hot. Cool. Yours." The equivalent designation in Russian - «Сочи 2014» and the slogan «Жаркие. Зимние. Твои. » will be printed on the reverse of the ticket.
On the souvenir tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Winter Games, a stylized image of the Fisht Olympic Stadium replaces the pictogram.
The souvenir tickets will naturally feature the date and time of the event, its location, and the Sochi 2014 Olympic emblem, as well as the Sochi 2014 ticketing terms and conditions, and logos of the worldwide TOP Partners in order to recognize their on-going support for the Olympic Games.
Souvenir tickets will be a treasured memento for all spectators. Unfortunately, those who are unable to select the "Delivery" option or apply after the November, 15, 2013, deadline will be unable to receive souvenir tickets.
Tickets will also have built-in anti-counterfeit elements to help protect fans, including a 2D hologram and bar code, as well as safety elements visible in ultra-violet and infrared light. However, those looking to buy Games tickets are reminded that the only way to be sure that your ticket is real is to buy on the official website of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi – tickets.sochi2014.com. Within Russia the only retailer of tickets to the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi will be the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. In other countries people will only be able to obtain tickets from the Authorized Ticket Resellers (ATRs), appointed by their country's National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
According to the "green concept" of the 2014 Games in Sochi, Sochi 2014 souvenir Olympic tickets are made from recycled paper, as evidenced by a special symbol on the ticket.
