Shaikha Hayat and Askar hail national volleyball team results in volleyball qualifying round

Bahrain’s national volleyball team received special awards for their outstanding performance which granted them a place in the final qualifying round of the World Championship, to be held in Poland next year.

The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) honoured members of the Bahraini team before a training session held at Khalifa Sports City’s Gym in Isa Town, where committee member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa presented the awards in the presence of BOC acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, Bahrain Volleyball Association general secretary Feras Al Halwachi and board member Mohammed Al Fardan.

Shaikha Hayat congratulated the players on their achievement and wished them continued success in the upcoming and deciding qualifying round in bid to reach the World Championship finals.

She expressed pride for this visit as she showed her admiration for volleyball game, having been a member of the Bahrain women’s national volleyball team in the past.

On his part, Abdulrahman Askar praised the improved levels of volleyball showed by the players as they made their nation proud, calling upon the players to put on their best in the coming round and wished them success.

Askar affirmed that the committee will spare no effort to provide all forms of support for this team in terms of its commitment to the back all volleyball teams to accomplish their best achievements for their country.

Al Halwachi then delivered a speech on behalf of the Bahrain Volleyball Association, thanking President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and to all members of the committee for their continued support to the association, noting that such gestures would have positive reflections on the players and team officials.
