(ATR) Botswanian sprinterAmantle Montshowas found to have violated anti-doping regulations at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The former 400m world champion tested positive for a banned stimulant on July 29, the Commonwealth Games Federation reported on Friday.
In a statement, the CGF said her backup B sample tested positive for methylhexaneamine dimethlypentaylamine.As a result, her fourth place finish in the women’s 400m final in Glasgow was vacated.
She is the second athlete from the 2014 Commonwealth Games to fail a drug test. Weightlifter Chika Amalaha of Nigeria was the other. She lost her gold medal in the 53-kg division.
