Rostelecom will support the Paralympic Games in Sochi with modern telecommunications infrastructure

Marking 100 days before the start of the Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Rostelecom, the largest telecommunications company in Russia, has supported the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games and signed Paralympic partnership memorandum with Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee in the "Telecommunications" category. According to the memorandum, Rostelecom will prepare the infrastructure and ensure the most advanced telecommunications services for the organizers, participants and guests of the Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi.

To create a unified information telecommunications infrastructure for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi, Rostelecom will lay over 300 km of fiber optic cable and also connect 35 different Olympic venues to the network infrastructure and ensure their telecommunications services.

To create the Games infrastructure, Rostelecom will use the most cutting edge solutions, paying great attention to environmental protection, using the latest technology that does not damage the region's ecological balance and makes it possible to preserve the beauty and variety of nature in Krasnodar Region.

After signing Paralympic partnership agreements, Olympic TOP Partners, like National Olympic Partners, become National Partners of the Paralympic Games, and receive the right to use Paralympic Games marks in Russia for the period from the date of signing of the agreement until December 31, 2014, and the right to use the RPC emblem and association with the Russian Paralympic team until December 31, 2016.

The Paralympic Movement in Sochi is currently supported by 23 companies: AtoS, Samsung, Visa, Coca-Cola, Dow Chemical, General Electric, Aeroflot, BOSCO Sport, Megafon, Russian Railways, Rosneft, VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus, OMEGA, Panasonic, RBK, Ingosstrakh, PricewaterhouseCoopers Russia B.V., Sportloto, EF English First, Kommersant. Publishing House, Ottobock, Adecco Group and PAUL HARTMANN.

The total revenue for the Organizing Committee from the Paralympic Marketing Program is over US$90 million, which is record for Paralympic marketing programs of Winter Games.
