Riyadh’s 2030 Asian Games Bid Committee today arrived in Muscat, Oman, ahead of the vote to award hosting rights for the 2030 Asian Games at the 39th Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly on 16 December 2020.
Senior members of the Riyadh 2030 team arriving in Muscat for the Asian Games vote include Director General of Riyadh 2030 and Vice President of Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz.
Bid leaders departed from Riyadh’s state-of-the-art King Khalid International Airport (see attached photo) and the travelling delegation included some of Saudi Arabia’s top athletes, Olympic heroes and Saudi Arabia Olympic Committee (SAOC) representatives.
The delegation is visiting Muscat to present Riyadh 2030’s vision of ‘Transforming The Future’ to the Asian National Olympic Committees (NOCs) – who will vote for the 2030 Host City in person or securely online.

Riyadh 2030’s bid to host the first ever Asian Games in Saudi Arabia is a national priority and, aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy set by HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is the number one objective of the Saudi sport’s movement.
HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz, Director General of Riyadh 2030 and Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, said:
"We’re delighted to arrive in the beautiful city of Muscat, and we look forward to presenting our vision for Riyadh 2030 to the OCA General Assembly.
"Our bid – which is completely aligned to our nation’s long-term development plans – will transform the future of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Asia’s sports movement as a whole. Our bid has total and unwavering political and public support, and we are committed to working collaboratively with the OCA to place sport and the Asian Olympic Movement at the very heart of society in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia.
"We want to thank the OCA for this opportunity, and we are grateful to the Oman Olympic Committee and the people of Muscat for their very warm welcome."
