The exercise will provide the operational basis for all Games venues
Brazil, Rio de Janeiro: 13 June 2013: The Rio 2016™ Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee held this Thursday a "Model Venue Exercise" at the Rio Olympic Arena. During the exercise, employees from various functional areas of the Committee attended presentations about the Games and performed integration activities.
This exercise is aimed at building an efficient operational plan to form the basis for planning of resources - space, staff and equipment - required for all venues during Games time.
The preparation of the functional areas for this activity began with the understanding of all levels of their specific operational actions in the venue and familiarization of the plans for each area. During the exercise, each area had the opportunity to explore their activities and get to know their interdependencies with other areas of the Committee and with external partners.
After this event, work will continue for 15 weeks with exercises and specific plans, as well as occasional technical visits to the venue. Work will be performed in stages, including workshops and meetings, so that all participants have the same level of detail.
