For Qatar, its seventh ever appearance at the Men’s Junior World Handball Championship finals, was sealed with a comfortable 38-22 win over Kuwait and the 19th spot in the final ranking, but the team earned praise from its rivals after convincing and promising outings vs. top teams like Croatia and Germany and a superb win against Switzerland during the Group Stage.

At the 19th edition of the Men’s Junior World Handball Championship which was held in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Qatar was drawn into the toughest group along with three top-seven teams (Croatia, Holland, Switzerland) plus defending champions Germany and missed the top sixteen due to a goal difference.

"Qatar played really well in almost all their games. They came pretty close to win their opening match against Croatia and gave us a hard time as well" commented Germany’s coach and Handball legend Markus Baur, while Dutch trainer Joop Fiege also endorsed Qatar’s performance in Ljubuski and Sarajevo.

"It was very important for us that we played as a team" stated Qatar coach Dragan Zovko.

"Unluckily our only not so good game was that against Holland which proved to be a decisive one. But overall I am satisfied with the performance of my players. Many of them showed that they have the potential and the talent to play for the Men’s team soon; even at the 2015 Men’s World Championship" added Zovko.

Qatar Handball Association Secretary General and Director of Sport Operations of the Qatar2015 Mohamed Jaber Al Mulla also acknowledges the team’s encouraging efforts in Bosnia-Herzegovina:

"Generally, we are satisfied with the team’s performance especially with the matches against Croatia and Germany. After all we were drawn into the ‘group of death’. We expect quite a few players of this team to further progress and join the Men’s team for the 2015 Men’s World Championship in Qatar".
