(ATR) The Samsung Group is the newest domestic sponsor for PyeongChang 2018.
PyeongChang 2018 organizers signed a $92.2 million deal with the Samsung Group on April 6.
Samsung Group affiliates will contribute roughly $74.3 million in cash and $18.5 million in merchandise to organizers in PyeongChang. Samsung Electronics will also provide IT equipment for the Games.
The group is the sixth domestic sponsor for the PyeongChang 2018 Games, joining Korean Air, KT, Youngone Outdoor, Pagoda Education Group and Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers.
To date, the POCOG has reached 41 percent of its sponsorship target of $737.7 million.

IT Lab Opens
The final physical Olympic information technology lab has been built.
Atos opened the Rio 2016 IT Integration Lab on Apr. 8, in order to begin preparing for the large-scale computing required for the Olympic Games.
The 2016 Olympics will be the first Games where many IT systems will transition to be managed in the cloud, so they can be reused for the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang.
"Rio 2016 marks our eighth Olympic Games, fourth Summer Olympic Games, and importantly the first and important step in the IOC’s journey to digital, as we move to a new IT delivery model," Patrid Adiba, CEO of Major Events at Atos, said in a statement.
"This will bring benefits in terms of efficiency not only for the Rio 2016 Games, but for all future Games too."
Record Sponsor Signing for Tokyo 2020
Tokyo 2020 continues to add sponsors at a blistering pace.
The organizing committee named its tenth gold partner on Apr. 6, signing the ASICS Corporation in the domestic sporting good category.
ASICS joins Asahi, Canon, Eneos, Fujitsu, JX Nippon Oil & Energy, NEC, Nippon Life Insurance, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp, and Tokio Marine & Nichido as the domestic gold partners for the Games.
Tokyo 2020 said previously the aim is to raise $1.3 billion in sponsorships.

New Events Hospitality Firm
Event Management Experts has opened its doors as a new event hospitality management services agency.
Founded by Sasha Karabegovic, George Karampelas and Pete Moore, EME has offices in Chicago, Paris, and Toronto. The founding trio has worked more than 60 years in the sports hospitality field including a combined 12 Olympic Games and two World Cups.
"We will use our expertise to provide companies a strategic event analysis and delivery that is transparent and based on integrity within the industry," Pete Moore said in a statement.
