(ATR) Hee Beom Lee became president of the 2018 Winter Olympics earlier this year, the sudden change coming with less than two years to go to the Games.

While Lee was an outsider to the Olympics, he is well known in Korean business and government, serving as industry minister as well as a CEO in the private sector.

Lee has been given high marks for his quick study in PyeongChang and says all will be ready for the two dozen test events on the calendar in the last year before the Games.

Around the Rings Editor Ed Hula spoke with him in Rio de Janeiro at the end of the Olympics where he expressed a high level of confidence about the preparation in Korea.
