The Pan American Sports Organization wishes to correct the information published a few hours ago regarding the update of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games medal table following the disqualification of 15 athletes for positive doping cases.
Below this correction, we detail the updated medal table of the Games, with the positions of the 41 countries that participated in the event ranked by the total number of gold medals won, and in the case of a tie, secondly by the number of silver medals won, thirdly by the number of bronze medals, and lastly by the number of total medals won by each delegation.
With this ranking system in place, Argentina rises on the medal table from 6th to 5th place, while the Dominican Republic achieved ninth place at the most important multisport competition in the Americas.
Panam Sports regrets the inconvenience caused by the error of the first statement and congratulates all the new medalists and champions of the XVIII edition of the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru.
