President Yang-Ho Cho awards Best Player of the Game at the opening match of 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship

Yang-Ho Cho, President & CEO of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games(POCOG) appeared as an award presenter at the opening game of the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship held in Prague, the Czech Republic.

Yang-Ho Cho, President & CEO of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games(POCOG) appeared as an award presenter at the opening game of the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship held in Prague, the Czech Republic.

POCOG delegation led by President Cho traveled to Prague for 3 days to observe major games and meet with IIHF President Rene Fasel. Initially, POCOG representatives intended to just watch the opening game between Sweden and the Czech Republic on May 1, but POCOG President Cho was strongly recommended by IIHF President Fasel to present the Award on site.

The opening match battled by World Ranking No. 1 Sweden, and World Ranking No. 6 the Czech Republic was intense and thrilling as Sweden beat the Czech Republic 6:5 upon shootout after a fierce 5:5 at overtime. As the breathtaking match continued, the O2 Arena charged-up by some 17,000 spectators was electric with joy. The crowd roared when POCOG President Cho awarded to Olive Ekman-Larsson for his prominent role at the shootout.
