PyeongChang 2018 signs EF Education First as the “Official Sponsor” for Education Services

EF Education First (Hereafter EF) has signed on as the Official Sponsor (Tier 2) for the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) covering the Education Services category.

EF will offer its world class services to the Organizing Committee through 2018 by providing educational materials on Olympism to elementary, middle, high school, and university students, as well as teachers in Korea.

POCOG President Yang-ho Cho said, "It is significant to have a sponsor for the Education Services category to create a sustainable legacy for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. PyeongChang 2018 will work with EF to promote the value of Olympic education and also EF’s brand in Korea."

Established in 1965 in Sweden, EF Education First is one of the largest and most acclaimed education institutions in the world that has been supporting for Olympic Games including Seoul 1988, Beijing 2008, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Games with over 500 campuses and offices in 53 countries. It also supports higher education related businesses, and is an affiliate of the Hult Prize, a prestigious award recognizing social entrepreneurs open to university students. It publishes the EF EPI report, a ranking of countries based on language ability, and organizes a summer school program for students in cooperation with the UN.

Signing the sponsorship, EF Senior Vice President Christopher McCormick stated, "We feel great pride and responsibility for being the Official Sponsor of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. We will strive to spread the Olympic Movement to students and teachers in the Republic of Korea and improve their engagement and awareness."
