Pianist Rostislav Krimer becomes 2nd European Games Star Ambassador

The Belarusian classical pianist and conductor Rostislav Krimer became the 8th Star Ambassador of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. The ceremonial presentation was made within the 13th Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival in Minsk.«I’m deeply pleased to be awarded with this honorary title. Through me and my colleagues devoted to the art you’ll find a choir of voices ready to spread such a great event as the 2nd European Games are around the world. It is prestigious opportunity for Belarus to show its historic, cultural and infrastructural wealth, raise touristic potential and open new horizons for the citizens. So, I would like to wish all our athletes high achievements at the upcoming sportive forum», Krimer said.The Minsk European Games Organising Committee CEO George Katulin emphasized: «Due to his concerts and pedagogical activities, Rostislav Krimer is brightly telling about Belarus all over the world. Though our main goal is to arrange the biggest multi-sport event in the Belarussian history at a high level, to expose Belarus to the world is even more important. Especially to Europe as more than 4 thousand athletes from 50 European countries will come to Minsk next year. I’m convinced that involving such people as Rostislav Krimer into the preparation for the Games we will succeed».The mission of the Star Ambassadors, more of whom will be named later, is to spread the word about Europe’s premier multisport event that will take place from 21-30 June next year in the Belarusian capital. The ambassadors will be tasked with promoting a positive image of the Games in Belarus and abroad, generating public interest, and drawing awareness to the 15 sports on the program of the 2nd European Games: 3x3 basketball, archery, athletics, badminton, beach soccer, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe sprint, cycling, judo, karate, sambo, shooting, table tennis and wrestling.Earlier, the four-time Olympic champion in Biathlon Darya Domracheva, People's Artists of Russia, famous circus trainers Askold and Edgard Zapashnye, Olympic champion in Canoe Sprint Alexander Bogdanovich, three-time Olympic Champion in Wrestling Alexander Medved, European marathon champion Volha Mazuronak, TV presenter and bloger Anna Bond became the 2nd European Games Star Ambassadors.Born in Belarus, Rostislav Krimer has been impressing audiences and critics with his brilliant pianism and sensitive musicality.
