(ATR) The roster of major partners and sponsors for next month’s inaugural ANOC World Beach Games in Qatar are revealed.
The local organizing committee announced that Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has been named the official partner of the Games while Katara Cultural Village and Aspire Zone Foundation are the Official Venue Partners.
The Official Sponsors are: Baladna, the largest dairy producer in Qatar; Mowasalat, a leading transportation company in Qatar; and Bornan, the prominent international sports technology company.
The Official Suppliers include: Xtreme Marine, a major supplier of boats and boats maintenance; Sports Corner, a top brand in sports apparel and equipment, and Al Rawda, the foremost Qatari water company.
"It is fantastic to see such distinguished Qatari and international companies commit their support to the ANOC World Beach Games," ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg said in a statement.
"With nearly 100 NOCs participating it will be a truly global event and will connect new sports and stars to a new generation of fans. This connection will live on long after the Games and we thank all our partners for playing a role in this historic event."
The ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 runs from Oct. 12-16. More than 1,200 athletes representing all five continents will be competing in 14 disciplines across 13 sports.
IAAF World Record Program Returns in Doha
TDK and Qatar National Bank (QNB) are offering a special award of US$100,000 to athletes who set a world record at the upcoming IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.
The performance must be an improvement on the existing IAAF world record and must be ratified for the money to be paid out.
The Japanese electronics company TDK, which has been the main bib sponsor for men's events for all 16 previous world championships and will maintain that involvement in Doha, will be responsible for the men’s award.
QNB, which joined the IAAF as a partner last year, will offer the same sponsorship package for women’s events at the IAAF World Championships, which begin on Sept. 27 and run through Oct. 6 at the Khalifa International Stadium.
Portugal’s Ines Henriques, who set a world record in the women’s 50km race walk at the World Championships in London two years ago, and USA's Ashton Eaton, who broke the decathlon world record in Beijing in 2015, are two of the most recent recipients of a world record award.
FEI Adds Two More Sponsors
The FEI, the world governing body for horse sport, signed two partnership deals this week.
The first was announced on Tuesday. Cavalor, the Belgian based equine nutrition brand, will become the FEI’s Official Nutrition Partner and Title Partner of the FEI Best Groom Award.
On Thursday, Peden Bloodstock signed an agreement to become the FEI’s Official Equine Logistics Partner and new title partner of the FEI Best Athlete Award.
At this year’s FEI Awards Gala presented by Longines in Moscow, the Cavalor FEI Best Groom Award will be given to the person working behind the scenes to ensure the horses he or she looks after are given the best possible care.
The Peden Bloodstock FEI Best Athlete Award will be given to the athlete who has demonstrated exceptional skill in competition over the past year and taken the sport to a new level.
With Cavalor and Peden now on board, the FEI since 2017 has added 10 commercial partnerships including Longines, Horse Pilot, ATPI, SAP, Fosun, Pixio, Otto and Boehringer Ingelheim.
