Partners Activate IPC Strategy in PyeongChang -- Sponsor Spotlight

(ATR) Sponsors old and new begin activation for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games.

(ATR) For the first time all Paralympians will receive a Samsung mobile phone, as part of the electronics company's Paralympic sponsorship.

Samsung has partnered with the International Paralympic Committee for the last six editions of the Games. The company provides accessible technology that help make the experience more inclusive and exciting for athletes and fans.

For PyeongChang 2018, Samsung says it will continue to provide innovative platforms that allow more people to become "connected, engaged and involved".

Samsung's activation is one of many that will be on display in PyeongChang.The IPC says it seeks partnerships with organizations that have common interests to help achieve its strategic objectives.

Financial services giant Visa and the IPC will continue their partnership through the next two Paralympic Games. Visa was the original worldwide partner for the IPC, joining in 2003. Since then, the IPC has added more worldwide partners including Atos, Ottobock, Panasonic, and Toyota.

Toyota debuts as the first "mobility sponsor" of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through the eight-year partnership, the automaker is making a big bet on the word "mobility" and broadening the term to comprise movement of the human body in general, according to a release.

Atos, the French information technology company, wants to inspire the Olympics’ digital transformation with all critical IT systems remotely managed on the company's cloud.

The German prosthetics company Ottobock is the longest serving partner of the Paralympics. It is the official prosthetic, orthotic and wheelchair technical service provider

Electronics giant Panasonic is providing PyeongChang with an array of audio-visual gear, including LED large-screen display systems at live sites.

In addition to Worldwide Partners, official partners include Hyundai, Kia Motors, Korean Air, The North Face, Icepco, KT, LH, Kangwon Land, Coca Cola, GE, Omega and Procter & Gamble.
