The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid Committee has expressed its thanks to the IOC for hosting a bidding workshop for 2024 Candidate Cities this week in Lausanne, at which the high level delegation picked up a number of key learnings about the IOC’s vision for the 2024 Games, the importance of sustainable development and ensuring the project is linked with the long term vision for the city and country.

The Paris delegation, led by bid Co-President and IOC Member Tony Estanguet, were invited to the two-day workshop to share ideas and receive feedback from the IOC.‎

Speaking about the 2024 Candidature Process Workshop, Tony Estanguet, Paris 2024 Co-President and IOC Member, said:

"The workshop delivered by the IOC in Lausanne was extremely valuable for our delegation. This was a key milestone for our bid, enabling us to share our vision and plans and receive key information, expertise and important feedback from the IOC.

"We are continually listening and learning as we begin to layout our plans and it is vital that we check our strategy with the IOC and key Olympic Stakeholders to ensure that we totally understand the needs of the Olympic Movement."

"As we continue to come to terms with the tragic events of last week in Paris our thoughts remain with those who have been profoundly affected. These horrific events have strengthened our resolve and determination to host an amazing Games for the world in 2024, help promote positive Olympic values and spread the message of peace through sport."

The Paris 2024 Bid Committee has also today confirmed the senior delegation that will attend the EOC (European Olympic Committees) General Assembly in Prague, Czech Republic on 20-21 November 2015.

The Paris 2024 team in Prague will include:

§ Tony Estanguet, Paris 2024 Co-President and IOC Member

§ Guy Drut, IOC Member

§ Sophie Lorant, Paris 2024 Director of International Relations

§ Denis Masseglia, CNOSF President

§ Jean-Michel Brun, CNOSF General Secretary

§ Marc Chevrier, CNOSF Director of International Relations

The delegation will also be joined by Jean-Francois Martins, the Deputy Mayor of Paris.

Speaking about the 44th EOC General Assembly, Bernard Lapasset, Paris 2024 Co-President, said:

"We are honoured to be here in Prague for the EOC General Assembly and we are delighted to have the opportunity to discuss our vision for Paris 2024 with key stakeholders in the Olympic Movement.

"We have been finalising our proposed venues and we recently confirmed the location for our Olympic and Paralympic Games Village and Media Village and our plans for the 2024 Games are advancing well. We are here to listen and learn from NOC colleagues in Europe and the Olympic Family as we process these key decisions – ensuring NOCs are offered the best environment to prepare their athletes for world class performances."
