Paris 2024 today announced the appointment of VERO Communications, the London based strategic sports communications consultancy led by Chairman Mike Lee OBE, following an international tender process, on a contract that will run up to the Host City decision at the IOC Session in Lima, Peru, in September 2017.

VERO will work closely with the bid leadership on a wide range of services, including providing strategic counsel and advice on all campaign elements, devising and implementing a global communications plan and coordinating with the bid communications team international media relations and activities.

Prior to this appointment, VERO had previously worked with the Paris 2024 Bid Committee on a project basis for the initial launch phase of the bid.

Etienne Thobois, Paris 2024 CEO, said:

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of VERO as our international communications agency and we look forward to working together as we develop our vision and bid concept on the road to the 2024 Host City decision.

"Creating a truly compelling and innovative Olympic and Paralympic Games plan and communicating that to the IOC and the global sports community is our mission. VERO’s proven successful record and unrivalled expertise in major event bidding and campaigns will help us achieve that goal.

"As we continue to build our in-house team and secure the best agency support, we are confident that we are putting in place the foundations to deliver a world class bid."

Mike Lee, VERO Chairman, said:

"We are honoured to be chosen as Paris 2024's international communications agency. The Paris team is very strong and the work that has already been put in place by the bid leaders, the NOC and the public authorities to build the bid is very impressive. We are excited to be a part of the team and to be working closely with Etienne, and Communications Director, Sophie Morel,‎ to deliver first class global communications between now and the Host City decision in September 2017."
