Paralympic athlete Giusy Versace calls urges support for athletes with special needs

Italian para-athlete, Giusy Versace expressed happiness for her productive participation in the Schools Olympic Program Paralympic Day and the Save the Dream initiative in Doha.

DOHA, February 25, 2014 – Italian para-athlete, Giusy Versace expressed happiness for her productive participation in the Schools Olympic Program Paralympic Day and the Save the Dream initiative in Doha.

In a press release on Monday, Versace stressed the importance of sport for youth and sounded her support to all programs prepared to promoting the capabilities of people with special needs in Qatar.

" Following my accident in 2005, sport gave me the opportunity to rebuild my life and has played a major role in making me the person I am today" said Versace.

"Global initiatives like Save the Dream offer the chance to inspire young people around the world to take up sport. It is vital that programmes like this continue to reach out to young people and educate them about how physical activity, sport and fair competition can enrich their lives" added Versace. Likewise, Mr. Mohammed Essa Al Fadallah, the Executive Director of Schools Olympic Program hailed the Festival outcomes and applauded the overwhelming response from students.
