Fort Lauderdale will welcome not only the best Athletes of the Americas, but also the top sport and Olympic leaders for an action-packed week of events in December.

The historical week will include the first edition of the Regional SportAccord Pan America convention, the inaugural Panam Sports Gala honoring the best performances from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, as well as the Americas Best Practices Symposium organized by Panam Sports and the United States Olympic Committee.

FORT LAUDERDALE, U.S. (March 19, 2019) — The beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale will host three important events for the Olympic Movement and the development of sport in the Americas this December.

This trio of grand events will take place in Ft. Lauderdale beginning on December 10 with the start of the very first ‘Regional SportAccord’ convention, a new exhibition specifically tailored to continental sport, with the Americas and Ft. Lauderdale chosen to host this historic first edition. The Regional SportAccord Pan America Convention marks the first networking and conference event to bring the Pan American, and the Olympic and non-Olympic communities, together in one location.

The three-day convention will gather the most influential leaders of sport in the Americas along with cities and regions, sports commissions, marketing and sponsorship companies, media rights, finance, education and sports equipment manufacturers, just to name a few.

After Regional SportAccord Pan America closes, the fourth edition of the Americas Best Practices Symposium organized by Panam Sports and the United States Olympic Committee will welcome sport leaders from 41 countries throughout the continent.

Here, Olympic leaders, Sports Ministers and government authorities will learn how to better support athletes as they strive for gold medals and glory in international competitions, while also strengthening the bonds between sport bodies and government leaders which is critical for the future success of sport in the Americas.

The Symposium will also cover the gamut from high-level sport performance, Sport for All and long-term athlete development, to supporting athletes as they transition to a career outside of international competition.

As an added bonus, the Regional SportAccord Pan America exhibition floor will remain open for an extra two days to accommodate attendees of the Americas Best Practices Symposium which takes place from December 13-14 in the same location as Regional SportAccord Pan America. In addition, Panam Sports is opening 50 delegate spots exclusively for attendees of Regional SportAccord Pan America who also wish to attend the Americas Best Practices Symposium.

The spacious and versatile Broward Convention Center will host both of these events with more than 600 attendees expected to participate throughout the week.

As the Convention and Symposium draw to a close, the main event will only be just beginning.

On December 13, Panam Sports will proudly present the historic and inaugural Panam Sports Gala. At the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, the best athletes and the most inspiring performances from the largest and most important multisport event in the Americas - the Pan American Games - will be honored.

The Lima 2019 Pan Am Games will be held from July 26 to August 11 in Peru's capital, featuring more sports, more athletes and more Olympic qualifiers than any of the previous 17 editions of the Pan Am Games. With the stakes at these Games higher than ever, there will be no shortage of spectacular athletes and competition to highlight and recognize during the Panam Sports Gala.

As another added bonus, Panam Sports is also offering 50 VIP tickets to the Gala exclusively to Regional SportAccord Pan America attendees. This will be a keystone event not to be missed, with Olympic athletes, entertainment and much more.

"Panam Sports vastly appreciates the commitment to promoting sport in the Americas by this beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale. With scenic beaches and facilities like the great Broward Convention Center, we are sure that these three important events will be incredibly successful. Panam Sports is excited to make history with this fantastic city by hosting the first Panam Sports Gala where we will celebrate the heart of Americas' Olympic Movement - our Athletes," said Neven Ilic, President of Panam Sports.

With the establishment of new Panam Sports offices in Miami in 2017, the organization of Panam Sports Training Camps in Ft. Lauderdale in 2018 and the Panam Sports Gala, Americas Best Practices Symposium and Regional SportAccord Pan America this December, Americas' Olympic Movement is proud of the second home it has found in Florida.
