M-IS Plc. Joins Madrid 2020 Bid Team
Madrid 2020 announces creative and communications agency M-IS Plc. as its choice to develop the bid city’s "international campaign and events".
"We are delighted to have M as part of our team," Madrid 2020 CEO Victor Sanchez said in a statement.
"We are excited by the opportunity to develop our international communication plan together, spreading our enthusiasm and compelling story for our project across the globe reflecting the true benefits that Madrid 2020’s bid offers to the Olympic Movement, the world and the people of Madrid and Spain."
The media group has worked "within the Olympic Movement for over a decade", advising both sponsors and organizing committees.
In addition to international "strategy and planning", M will also help organize Madrid 2020’s final presentation to IOC members to be made in Buenos Aires in September 2013.
Poznań Bid Team Appoints Marketing Firm
Sports marketing agency Impact34 will support Poznań’s bid for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
"We are delighted to have been chosen by Poznań to help deliver their 2018 Youth Olympic bid to the IOC," Impact34 CEO Bettina Kuperman said in a statement.
"We have seen the great development of the city in the last few years. The success from hosting major events such as the UEFA Euro 2012 has shown the world that Poznań and Poland can stage and deliver world-class major events."
The Polish city made a previous bid for the 2014 YOG which were awarded to Nanjing.
Sochi Live Sites Broadcast London Closing Ceremony
Open-air screens at 16 Sochi 2014 "Live Sites" broadcast the closing ceremony of the London Games.
Olympians and Russian officials were among the "thousands of spectators" who gathered to watch the Olympics close.
At the live site in Omsk, the Games were celebrated with a street-ball tournament, performances from local cheerleaders and gymnasts, a dance flash-mob and a performance from popular group Secret Service.
"We opened the Sochi 2014 Live Sites well ahead of the Sochi 2014 Games, to give Russian citizens the opportunity to enjoy the events and atmosphere of the Games," said Sochi 2014 organizing committee president Dmitry Chernyshenko.
