Olympic Legends Carl Lewis and Bob Beamon to speak at ASPIRE4SPORT

ASPIRE4SPORT 2011, the leading sport business conference in the Middle East, is pleased to announce that Olympic track and field legends Carl Lewis and Bob Beamon will speak at this month’s conference which starts on November 12.

Lewis won 10 Olympic medals across five Olympic Games – including nine golds – and has been voted "Sportsman of the Century" by the International Olympic Committee.

Commenting on his attendance at ASPIRE4SPORT, Carl Lewis said: "Doha is on the leading edge of what it takes to be successful in sports today. I look forward to attending the 2011 Aspire4Sport International Sports Congress & Exhibition."

Bob Beamon, iconic long-jumper who smashed the world record at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games -a record which stood for 23 years - will be joining Carl Lewis on a panel discussion on "How to build an Olympic Star" on 15 November. The pair will also be attending the ASPIRE4SPORT Gala Dinner. Nadia Comaneci, Olympic gymnastics legend [previously announced] will join them on the Olympic panel discussion.

Other top name speakers who will gather at ASPIRE4SPORT 2011 include: Venus Williams, seven-time grand-slam winner; Nadia Comaneci, Olympic gymnastics legend, Sandro Rosell, FC Barcelona President; Michael Laudrup, one of Denmark’s greatest players and a hero of Spain’s La Liga; Fabio Cannavaro, Italy’s 2006 FIFA World Cup winning captain; Marcelo Lippi, former Head Coach of Italy; Bora Milutinovic, the only football manager to coach five different teams at five FIFA World Cups; Luis Aragones, former player and manager of Atletico Madrid and coach of the victorious Spanish team in the 2008 UEFA European Championships; Clarence Seedorf, Dutch football maestro; Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatar Olympic Committee General Secretary; Hassan Al-Thawadi, Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee General Secretary; Damon Hill, former F1 World Champion, Sir Frank Williams, Founder of Williams F1; Rubens Barrichello, current Williams team driver; and Khoo Boon Hui, President of Interpol.
