(ATR) The 2017 edition of the annual Dream Together Seoul Forum will focus on the ways in which PyeongChang 2018 can develop a strong Olympic legacy.

The theme of the event, "Olympic Legacy and Sustainability: From the past to the future", will explore positive examples of Olympic legacy in the past and discuss how similar principles can be utilized in South Korea for next February’s Winter Olympics.

The Dream Together Forum is supported by Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation to promote global sport development. The forum began in 2013 and is a platform where IOC members, NOC leaders and scholars speak about critical issues on the sports agenda.

The 2017 edition will seek to promote the PyeongChang 2018 Games and facilitate the development of the Olympic legacy. Organizers of the forum argue that Olympic legacy is often misunderstood and the forum will analyze examples of successful legacies such as London 2012 and Vancouver 2010.

IOC Executive Board member Ser Miang, Vancouver 2010 chairman John Furlong, PyeongChang 2018 vice president Johoo Kim, Tokyo 2020 public relations secretary Hiromi Kawamura and IOC head of legacy Tania Braga are some of the featured speakers of this year’s forum.

The InterContinental Seoul COEX Hotel will host the event that takes place on Nov. 24. It is organized by the Seoul National University.

Register for the event by Nov. 21.

Nobel Laureate Highlights Peace and Sport

Professor Muhammad Yunus is one of two headline speakers preparing for the 2017 Peace and Sport International Forum next month in Monaco.

Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate for his innovative idea of microcredit and its role in reducing poverty throughout the world, will be joined by Champion for Peace Didier Drogba as the keynote speakers of the 10th edition of the annual forum.

Drogba is a UEFA Champions League winner from the Ivory Coast who is sometimes credited with helping end the civil war in the Ivory Coast in 2006 after making a public plea to both sides to lay down their arms.

"It is special for me to have been asked to speak at the Peace and Sport Forum, and I am excited to meet so many who are dedicated to the power of the peace-through-sport movement," Drogba said in a statement.

"I have spent much of my life using my position within sport to help enact change, and it will be incredible to bring so many minds together to share in best practice. Together, we can change the world."

"I always felt amazed at the limitless power of sport," Yunus said. "It is powerful because it is basic to human nature. Where there is power, there is always a chance to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives."

The 2017 edition will take place over three days beginning on Dec. 6 at the Monte Carlo Bay SBM Resort.

Broadcasting, Technology Mix at ISC 2018

The International Sports Convention returns to Geneva, Switzerland once again in December 2018.
