The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is excited to announce that Flying Disc will be featured on the global Olympic Channel during The World Games in Wroclaw, Poland. The Flying Disc (Ultimate) Championship will be a three-day event running from Friday to Sunday 21-23 July 2017, and will feature the top national teams in Ultimate: Australia, Canada, Colombia, Japan, USA, and host country Poland.
The Olympic Channel will be provide coverage the competition, including the bronze and gold medal games, as part of their 24/7 online channel dedicated to The World Games that can be viewed on the Olympic Channel global digital platform at olympicchannel.com and its mobile apps. Tom Styles will serve as the lead commentator for the Ultimate games.
"I am really looking forward to this World Games, the fifth edition for Flying Disc out of the ten which have been held," said Robert "Nob" Rauch, WFDF President. "We are very excited to be able to have our sport showcased on the Olympic Channel, with whom we signed an MOU late last year, to be able to present our sport on the world stage, especially after our very successful media program in France where we were able to livestream 120 of the games from our World Championships of Beach Ultimate in June. We are also very pleased that we will be able to have Tom Styles be in the booth presenting our sport to the world as chief commentator."
The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. At The World Games, sports and disciplines that are not on the Olympic programme can showcase their best athletes. Former The World Games sports Badminton, Triathlon and Taekwondo became Olympic sports in 2000 and Beach Volleyball in 1996. Rugby made it to the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016 and Karate, Sport Climbing, Surfing and Baseball/Softball will be presented in Tokyo 2020. The 10th edition of The World Games will be held in Wroclaw, Poland, 20–30 July 2017. Over 3,000 athletes from 31 sports and over 110 countries will take part in the Games. The Games will be shown 24/7 on the Olympic Channel global digital platform. The World Games 2021 will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.

Tom Styles is one of the most established broadcast personalities in Ultimate. He has been an Ultimate player since 1998, and an active contributor to the coverage of the sport since 2002 as a photographer, blogger, writer, video producer, and commentator. The "Voice of UK Ultimate" is known for his lively Ultimate video podcast Blockstack.TV. Tom has brought his trademark bush hat and instantly recognisable pace and enthusiasm to play by play coverage at major UK, European and World Championship tournaments for over 10 years including UK Nationals, Paganello, WUGC 2008 Vancouver, WUCC 2010 Prague, WU23UC 2015, WUGC 2016 London, and WCBU 2017 Royan.
