Briefs…

…Dara Torres' new book "Age is Just a Number" focuses on achieving your dreams at any age. The 42-year-old swimmer recounts in detail the morning of her 50-meter Olympic freestyle swim. In addition to sharing her Olympic preparation and experience, she is also candid about the birth of her daughter, Tessa, and the loss of her father, Edward, to cancer. The memoir hits shelves April 7.

…If you want to know more about raising an Olympian, or keeping one out of trouble, pick up Debbie Phelps' new tome "A Mother for All Seasons." In the book out April 7, the middle school principal writes it was "déjà vu all over again," after her son's infamous bong photo surfaced. But like any good parent, Phelps only blames herself, saying she should have done more to "prepare Michael to make better choices."
