While the Northeast gets pounded by snow storms and the WestCoast grips for El Niño we’re reminded that harsh weather should notprevent us from maintaining a daily exercise routine. That’s themessage Olympic and Paralympic stars are delivering to thousands ofLos Angeles area school children as part of the Ready Set, Gold!program, which promotes student fitness by teaching youngsters theimportance of exercise and nutrition.

During the school visits, the athletes demonstrate a series of easy-todoindoor exercises that can easily be done at home – especiallywhen the weather outside is extreme.

A team of 50 Olympians and Paralympians (including 22 Olympicmedalists) make up Ready, Set, Gold!, the first and only program ofits kind in the country. Ready, Set, Gold! is featured in 60 publicschools throughout Greater Los Angeles.
