Jakarta, Indonesia, November 14, 2017: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd (Otsuka) held a sponsorship signing ceremony on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 for next year’s18th Asian Games in Indonesia.
The deal will see the Tokyo-based Otsuka providing the official sports drink, Pocari Sweat, and the official energy bar, Soyjoy as an Official Partner of the Asian Games.
The OCA was represented at the signing ceremony by the Director General, Mr Husain Al Musallam, and the Director of National Olympic Committee and International Relations, Mr Vinod Tiwari.
Otsuka was represented by Mr Yoshihiro Bando (President/Director of P.T. Amerta Indah Otsuka), Mr Daniel Sumual (Marketing Director, AIO) and Mr Ricky Suhendar (Corporate Communications Director, AIO).

The 18th Asian Games will run from August 18 to September 2, 2018, in Jakarta and Palembang – the capital of South Sumatra province.
There will be 40 sports, 462 events and 10,000 athletes from the OCA’s 45 National Olympic Committees.
Otsuka, which launched Pocari Sweat in 1980, has supported four previous Asian Games: Bangkok 1998, Busan 2002, Doha 2006 and Incheon 2014.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the First World Broadcasters’ Meeting for the 18th Asian Games 2018.
