05 June 2013, Kuwait: OCA President H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah visited the Al-Zatari Camp, located in the border of Jordan and Syria, where approximately 120,000 Syrian refugees have been camped. The refugees displaced from the ongoing war in Syria include 70,000 kids.
The visit was part of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) efforts to promote peace through sports in conflicting zones of Asia. The aim of the visit was to create social awareness and also encourage the kids and youth stationed in the camp to practice sports and physical education and become a responsible individual in the society.
H.E. Sheikh Ahmad among other things donated footballs to the kids and hoped that some of these kids will be future national players for their countries.
