The Olympic Council of Asia is delighted to announce that over 1,700 players have registered to take part in the e-Sports program of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, this September.
The registration window opened on May 10 and will close on June 30. As of June 16, 1,760 players from 23 countries and regions in Asia and Oceania have entered the four competitions of e-Sports.
The e-Sports programme has been completed with the inclusion of The King of Fighters XIV (individual), one of the most successful combat sports games in the world with gaming content similar to judo and wrestling. KOF joins DOTA 2 (team), Hearthstone (individual) and StarCraft II (individual).
Here are the key deadlines:
Registration of players: May 10-June 30.
National Qualification Competitions: July 1-20.
Regional Qualification Competitions: July 22-August 6.
Final Tournament at the 5th AIMAG, from September 17-27.

e-Sports will be a demonstration sport at the 5th AIMAG, alongside the 21 official medal sports in a games featuring 64 NOCs – 45 from Asia plus 19 from Oceania.
