(ATR) Nike is on board as an official partner of the Berlin 2018 European Athletics Championships.

The deal is part of Nike’s strategy that has identified Berlin as one of its 12 key cities around the world.

"Nike’s mission is to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world, and this partnership will allow us to better serve athletes in sports obsessed Berlin and beyond," Bert Hoyt, VP/GM, Nike EMEA said in a statement.

There are just over 100 days to go until the start of the first multisport European Athletics Championships, which will be held in Berlin and Glasgow, Scotland from Aug. 2-12. The event features the existing senior continental championships of Athletics, Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing, and Triathlon, along with a new Golf Team Championships – all unified under a common brand.

European Athletics President Svein Arne Hansen said the partnership with Nike underscores not only the importance of the European Athletics Championships but also the broad appeal of the event.

"A world-class sporting event supported by the leading manufacturer of athletic footwear and apparel, in a world-class city – the eyes of Europe and beyond will be on us this August and together we will not fail to deliver," Hansen said in a statement.

HMD Global Partners Women’s EHF FINAL4 2018

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has reached an agreement to become an official event partner for the final weekend and season highlight of the women’s EHF Champions League.

The EHF FINAL4 2018, organized by EHF Marketing and the Hungarian Handball Federation, will take place on May 12-13 in Budapest.

With the partnership HMD Global will receive floor sticker exposure as well as LED board and arena cube advertisement, according to a release.

The company will also be present with banner advertising on the event website, www.ehfFINAL4.com, and European handball’s own OTT platform, www.ehfTV.com.

"Over the past years, the Women’s EHF FINAL4 has positioned itself as the pinnacle event for European women’s club handball. This positioning is bearing fruits and we are experiencing a growing interest from international businesses to use it as a platform to communicate and promote their brand," said David Szlezak, Managing Director of EHF Marketing, in a statement.
