New TSE Consulting report provides cities with fresh approach to increasing sport participation

TSE Consulting, the international consulting firm specialised in sport, has published a new report titled 'Increasing sport participation in major cities', that explores the issues and challenges faced by cities when implementing urban sports programmes. The report will be exclusively available for the first time to participating cities at the City Events conference this week in Lausanne, Switzerland - the Olympic Capital.

TSE set out to answer the question of how to engage people living in urban areas in sport. Research has previously shown that as urban areas are developing the population living in these areas are not actively engaged in a high level of sport participation. This creates an increase in social and health issues in such areas. Through worldwide research, TSE's new report offers solutions guiding cities in taking a new approach to increasing sports participation throughout their communities.

TSE Consulting's Managing Director Lars Haue-Pedersen said, "This study tests theoretical issues against real life cases across different continents. We are very pleased to be able to provide practical guidance and share fresh ideas from across the world to help cities to overcome some of the challenges they face when implementing sports programmes."

This new study follows TSE's 2011 report 'Maximising social impact - lessons learnt from social programmes of past major sports events'. Both reports are available at the TSE Consulting stand at the City Events conference in Lausanne, Switzerland (14-16 November, 2012) and on request via email info@tseconsulting.com.
