The week before the Host City election for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a new poll has revealed an overwhelming 92% public support in Japan for hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The latest government survey underlined the nation’s passion for a Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, which was conducted by the Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
IOC Member and President of Tokyo 2020 and the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC), Tsunekazu Takeda, said: "The vast public support in Tokyo and across Japan for hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games illustrates the positive momentum that is continuing to build for our bid.
"The latest survey result underlines the nation’s passion for sport and excitement about both our plans to host a superb Games and global vision to benefit sport."
