New Members of SportAccord Convention Executive Committee

SportAccord has held its first Council meeting today, after the newly elected President Mr Marius Vizer (President of the International Judo Federation) took office. The Council has unanimously resolved to replace its current representative members in SportAccord Convention.

According to the decision, Mr Marius Vizer and Mr Rotenberg Arkady Romanovich (picture to the right) will join the Executive Committee of SportAccord Convention. They will work with the other members of the Executive Committee who are the President of ASOIF and International Tennis Federation Mr Francesco Ricci Bitti and the President of AWOIF and International Ice Hockey Federation Mr. Rene Fasel.

The President of SportAccord Mr Marius Vizer said “It is an honour for our organisation to have such a great character like Mr Rotenberg in the Executive Board of the SportAccord Convention.”

Appointment of New SportAccord General Director

Taking into account the current and future planned activities of SportAccord, the Council of the organisation decided to make changes in the management.

The Council has unanimously decided to release Mr Vincent Gaillard from his duties as SportAccord Director General and appointed Mr Vlad Marinescu for this position. The decision has an immediate effect.

Mr Vlad Marinescu (28) has been working in the International Judo Federation (IJF) as the Director of the Presidential Office for the last 6 years. He is a 7-time USA Karate Champion, with business education specialised in international sports. While working in close synergy with the President at the IJF, he has been active in the areas of management, organisation of major events from conception to fulfilment, TV, strategy, logistics, sponsoring, marketing, IT and others.

I am honoured with the trust invested in me by the Council of SportAccord. I will do my very best to positively implement the strategic goals and ensure the sustainable growth of this organisation,” the new Director General said after his appointment was announced.

The President of SportAccord Mr Marius Vizer commented, “Mr Marinescu will bring new energy and top professionalism to SportAccord. With his management our organisation can achieve its goals.”
