TAIPEI, 28 FEBRUARY 2014 – MP & Silva, a leading international sports media company, announced today the expansion of its presence in the Asia-Pacific with the launch of its inaugural Taiwan office.

This new milestone underlines MP & Silva’s commitment to maximize its partnership with the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) following last month’s appointment as its exclusive advisor for all media rights sales, as well as the production of all games.

In conjunction with the opening of its Taipei office, MP & Silva has appointed Country Director Jammie Chen to head the Taiwan market, in addition to Anthony Yu as Executive Producer to oversee its sports production initiatives.

Armed with more than a decade of experience in the media industry, Jammie is primarily responsible for overseeing MP & Silva’s relationship with CPBL, developing new commercial opportunities, in addition to business functions related to sales, marketing, production and operations. Jammie will be based in Taipei and will report directly to Beatrice Lee, Managing Director of MP & Silva, Asia-Pacific. Highly regarded for his sports production experience, Anthony’s appointment highlights MP & Silva’s commitment to partner the CPBL to showcase the league in the best possible manner with high production values.

Said Beatrice: "MP & Silva is focused on growing the Taiwan market, and we are delighted to have someone with Jammie’s and Anthony’s experience and expertise in the sports broadcast industry. We’re confident their insights will contribute to expanding our presence in the market. The availability of expanded CPBL media rights in Taiwan will introduce a new competitive edge to the sports media industry, and we believe fans will ultimately benefit from this as the real winner. With an optimistic outlook of the CPBL, we look forward to reaching new heights in partnership with the league."

Jammie has more than a decade of broadcast experience, and was previously from NEXT TV as the Head of Programming & Marketing, and was played a key role in launching the Next TV channel and garnered more than 100,000 users within the first two weeks. Jammie also enjoyed a successful eight-year stint in ESPN STAR Sports in Taiwan as the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, covering a wide variety of roles such as overseeing the marketing strategy, implementing programmes and leading campaigns to increase the brand value of the sports channels, while promoting key content, television personalities and sports programming.

Anthony has had an extensive career in sports production, having covered major sporting events including the Major League Baseball China Series (2008), the Baseball World Cup (2001), the NBA Taipei Games (2009), the FIFA Futsal World Cup (2004) and studio production for three editions of the FIFA World Cup (2002, 2006, 2010) as well more than five seasons covering the CPBL.
