PyeongChang-The Tokyo 2020 JAPAN HOUSE in Gangneung Olympic Park hosted more than 150,000 visitors during the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
The various exhibits at the Tokyo 2020 JAPAN HOUSE were again very well-received during the Paralympic Games.
The most popular was THE TOKYO TRAVELLERS, an advanced 3D scanning system that placed life-sized digital avatars of guests in front of computer-generated images of famous Tokyo
landmarks.
Cheers of excitement were often heard when friends and families found their avatars moving around in the city of Tokyo.
The Boccia Experience corner and the Tokyo 2020 Games Mascot corner, both introduced at the Paralympic Games, also attracted interest by many visitors.
On the last day, Sunday 18 March, the Governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, paid a visit to the suite and tried out some of the exhibits, including THE TOKYO TRAVELLERS and the Boccia Experience corner.
During the 27 days of the Olympic and Paralympic Games PyeongChang 2018, the Tokyo 2020 JAPAN HOUSE raised awareness and excitement for the next Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The city of Tokyo and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee will continue to promote Tokyo to the world in the days leading
up to the Tokyo 2020 Games. The success of the Tokyo 2020 JAPAN HOUSE gave us confidence that the world is ready for Tokyo in 2020.
