Boxing Champs

The boxing world championships kick off Monday in Azerbaijan.

ATR will be on the scene for opening bouts in the Azeri capital of Baku.

Competition runs through Oct. 8.

Tuesday Talk

This week’s Tuesday Talk is with Wilfried Lemke, the UN’s special adviser on sport for peace and development.

Check back Tuesday for his take on the role of the Olympic Movement within his mission as well as that of the United Nations as a whole.

30 Years Since Baden Baden

Wednesday marks the 30th anniversary of the 9th Olympic Congress and 84th IOC Session, both in Baden Baden, Germany.

ATR will be on the scene as the German NOC commemorates the 1981 gatherings that paved the way for the IOCAthlete’s Commission as well as a marked increase in the involvement of athletes within the governance of the Olympic Games.

300 Days Until London 2012

Friday is the 300-days-to-go checkpoint for organizers of the London Olympics.

After the July 27 year-to-go festivities, expect quite a bit less fanfare this time around.

Written in Beijing by Matthew Grayson.
