Media Watch -- A Post-Olympic Sochi

(ATR) Experts weigh in on memorable moments from the Winter Games and predict what will come of Sochi.

Eurosport's "Sochi Network" features the "top ten most memorable stories" from the 2014 Winter Olympics. The controversy surrounding ladies' figure skating and a "self-deprecating" joke from the Sochi Olympic closing ceremony make the list.

From U.S. figure skater Jeremy Abbott's closing performance in competition to the US-Canada women's hockey game,ESPN staffers weigh in on "what stood out in Sochi."

NBC Olympic Talk writer Nick Zaccardi highlights the"14 best athletes from the Sochi Olympics."

New York Times writer David Segal says Sochi Olympics construction is "weighing on the city's future."

NPR's Corey Flintoff asks "what will happen to Sochi" now that the Winter Games are over. Lighting helped Sochi to achieve some of its "best effects" during the Games, but Flintoff explores whether the city will "continue to benefit" from the "spectacular" Olympic venues.

RTreports on predictions for a post-Olympics Sochi from Deloitte, Heineken, and Swissotel. Representatives from all three companies say Sochi was a "good choice," and anticipate revenue will "continue to flow into the city after the Games and attract more tourists and investors."

USA Today writer Nancy Armour considers the current state of previous Olympic host cities and saysSochi residents can expect a "tourism boost."

Los Angeles Times reporter Bill Plaschke says that while the Sochi Olympics ran "glitch-free with a palpable feeling of safety," Russian President Vladimir Putin's "Ring of Steel also kept out their magic."

The Miami Herald's Michelle Kaufman describes the Sochi Games as "special, despite security concerns."

New York Times writer Jeff Z. Klein discusses a study from 2012 that suggests top National Hockey League teams "may suffer after Sochi."
