Malaysia Major Events (MME) is the second Gold Partner to sign-up for the sixteenth edition of the SportAccord Convention due to take place in Bangkok, Thailand from 15 – 20 April 2018 at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld.

A division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia (MOTAC), it was established under the Government’s Economic Transformation Programme (Entry Point Project 7) to identify, promote, facilitate as well as support viable international events to be staged in Malaysia.

"Malaysia Major Events has been participating in SportAccord Convention for the past five years, and this will be our first time as a Gold Partner. SportAccord Convention has given us an amazing platform to meet and network with international sports federations and presidents. This has resulted in positive leads, which have turned into several winning bids for Malaysia in terms of international sporting events. We are excited that the Convention will be hosted in Bangkok and we anticipate a lot more participation from the ASEAN region." said Tony Nagamaiah, General Manager of Malaysia Major Events (MME).

During the SportAccord Convention in Lausanne, Tony Nagamaiah discussed Malaysia Major Events’ mission and objectives with Smart Cities & Sport. At #SAC2018, the MME team will be found at Booth (no. 66) where delegates can be assured of a friendly welcome and brought up-to-date with the latest news on successful bids and other golden opportunities in Malaysia.

Commenting on the partnership, Nis Hatt, Managing Director of SportAccord Convention said, "We are delighted to hear that Malaysia Major Events has gained significant value as a SportAccord Convention partner over the years. Their investment in becoming a Gold Partner for the first time is testament to the successes they have attained from previous Conventions. It is a real pleasure to have Malaysia Major Events onboard as a Gold Partner."

With exclusive access to the key decision-makers in sport and all the International Federations present, around 1,500 delegates will attend the SportAccord Convention and take advantage of the networking opportunities provided across the Official Schedule. This includes social events, a 3-day exhibition and daily lunches at the SAC Café, an extensive conference program focused on sports marketing and sponsorship, as well as some of the official meetings taking place.
