Superbest Power Health Food & Beverages Sdn Bhd, the leading local coffee energy drink, and Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership announced today the title sponsorship for the Malaysian FA Cup, followed by the draw that kicked off the 2016 edition of the competition.
The three-year deal from 2016 to 2018 will see the competition be called the ‘Superbest Power Piala FA’, as well as the launch of a new FA Cup logo that incorporates the Superbest Power brand. The partnership will include entitlements that allow Superbest Power to grow and promote Malaysian Football given their country-wide presence, and other marketing rights such as engagement activities during FA Cup matches.
The comprehensive agreement between Football Malaysia LLP and Superbest Power was brokered by MP & Silva, a leading sports international media rights agency appointed by the FA of Malaysia as its Global Adviser for all media and commercial rights for an extensive line-up of FAM competitions.
Details of the title sponsorship was announced following a three-day workshop organised by the newly-formed Football Malaysia LLP that involves clubs and all other stakeholders of the Malaysian Football League. Football Malaysia LLP is driven to take Malaysian football forward with its main function to operate the Malaysian Super League, Premier League, Superbest Power Piala FA, TM Piala Malaysia and Charity Shield.
Said Superbest Power Health Food and Beverages Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Kamal Mohd Nor: "We’ve seen how engaged and passionate football fans are for their local clubs and we believe we can take that a step further. We know that football in Malaysia has vast potential to grow, and we see the FA Cup as a great opportunity to take local football to the next level and the Superbest Power brand can be a big part of that initative.
"Superbest Power Energy Coffee has grown to be a household name over the years and as the first local coffee brand to sponsor Malaysian Football, we believe we can strengthen our brand image as an all-natural energy beverage," said Kamal, adding that Superbest Power is just not a common beverage but an all-round health drink."
Said Football Malaysia LLP Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Ramalingam: "We’re delighted to have see a major local brand supporting local football and we believe there’s many mutual benefits to be gained from a commercial as well as football perspective. We look forward to seeing Superbest Power bring its brand alive at this year’s FA Cup, and giving local fans more to cheer about."
MP & Silva managing director for Asia Pacific, Beatrice Lee, said: "We are extremely pleased to have on board Superbest Power as title sponsors for the FA Cup. We believe this is a win-win partnership between Superbest Power and FMLLP. More importantly this title sponsorship offers new opportunities to elevate Malaysian Football, as tying up local football with corporate sponsors that has the sport at heart will definitely give a tremendous boost to our football industry."
The 2016 Malaysian Football League season kicks off with the Charity Shield match on Feb 13 between Super League winners Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Malaysia Cup champions Selangor at the Tan Sri Dato’ Hj Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin. It follows with the three-month long Super and Premier League matches.
