Tips

What is a Mascot?

A mascot is a fun, made-up character that represents an event or team. An example of a famous mascot is Pudsey Bear from Children in Need. Mascots can be a human, animal, fantasy creature or even objects like Wenlock and Mandeville from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

How can I make my entry stand out?

Be creative! Make your Mascots as silly, clever, fast or strong as you like – remember, they are representing the Athletics and Para Athletics World Championships, so you should show this in your character design. Also be sure to give them great names.

Be original! We want unique ideas so try and think of a Mascot idea that nobody has ever seen before.

Be sporty! These Mascots are going to represent a huge, amazing athletics event happening for the first time ever in London so your mascots must love athletics! Think about how to show this in your designs.
