This week, Lima 2019 will present the official slogan for the Pan American Games that begin in July. The direct, inclusive, motivating and historically significant phrase invites everyone to be a part of the largest and most important sporting event in the history of Peru.

With a little more than seven months remaining before the Opening Ceremony of the XVIII Pan American Games, the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee will announce the official slogan of the Games.

"LETS ALL PLAY" is a slogan that invites everyone to be part of what will be the most important and massive sporting ever held in Peru. Coming up with such a comprehensive slogan was not a simple job. The creation of this phrase that will be featured in all marketing and communications campaigns, in each venue and on Lima 2019 merchandise required a lot of time and hard work to select the ideal phrase that represents the Host Country and the athletes, while also motivating and inviting everyone who is passionate about sport.

The Lima 2019 slogan also has a historical context, as noted by Lima 2019 President, Carlos Neuhaus:

"When we sat down to come up with the Lima 2019 slogan, it was important for us to reflect back to why Peru embarked on this unique journey to host the largest sporting event in its history. And one of the main objectives was to create a sporting revolution in our country. During the 80’s, Peru was beset by economic instability, which led the government to declare sport as non-compulsory in schools. As a country, we have come a long way since then and Peru is now one of the region’s most stable economies. The time has now come for Peru to change the relationship we have with sport, and Lima 2019 is the perfect catalyst for this transformation."

"The Games have the power to create a new generation of elite athletes who will inspire young people up and down the country to take up sport. They will promote mass participation through unprecedented access to sport and facilities for school kids in underserved communities, building the great Peruvian athletes of tomorrow and creating a culture of healthy, active lifestyles. Now is the time for Peruvian sport: Let’s All Play!" Neuhaus said emphatically.

The official slogan for Lima 2019 is already starting to go viral today. The Lima 2019 Pan American Games are right around the corner, and whether we are Peruvian, Venezuelan, Argentinean, Costa Rican, Cuban, Jamaican, American, or any other nationality, the invitation is clear, and we are ready. LETS ALL PLAY and enjoy this celebration of sport across the region.
