Lima 2019 President Carlos Neuhaus said: "The three test events getting underway today are incredible opportunities for athletes to showcase their talent and earn qualification slots. We’ll also be giving thousands of fans a preview of the amazing level of athleticism and competition we’ll see at the Pan American Games. As Lima 2019 works to get ‘Games-ready’, we are building excitement for the main event this summer and continuing to put sports at the heart of Peruvian life."

Lima 2019 has already successfully hosted the Panamerican Judo Championships and World Para Powerlifting World Cup as official test events for the Pan American and Parapan American Games to fine-tune preparations at the Videna Sports Center 1 and 2.
