LIMA 2019 ANNOUNCES TOYOTA AS GOLD SPONSOR OF THE PAN AMERICAN AND PARAPAN AMERICAN GAMES

Lima, Peru; 8 April 2019: The Organizing Committee for the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games today announced Toyota as a new gold sponsor in the automobile category.

Lima 2019 organizers and the leading Japanese car manufacturer signed a contract today at the Peru National Stadium, which will see Lima 2019 receive 15 hybrid vehicles including the Prius, Rav4 and the new Hatchback which will soon be launched in the Peruvian market.

Toyota will provide drivers, fuel, insurance and parking for its vehicles for the transfer of the world-class athletes and VIPs attending the Games, as well as for the Lima 2019 Torch Relay which will visit 19 cities in Peru across 23 days.

In addition to vehicle contributions, Toyota’s involvement in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will include promotion of the Games through publicity campaigns, as well as on its digital and social media platforms.

Lima 2019 attendees will also be able to visit the Toyota House which will be located at the brand new Videna Sports Complex throughout the Games. The house will host a wide range of exciting and interactive activities for fans, during which Toyota will exhibit some of its latest technologies. Toyota has been a sponsor of the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games and is a current of sponsor of the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee.

ABOUT LIMA 2019

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games is the largest event in the history of Peru and will gather 6,680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas. The Games will include 39 sports and 62 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. 23 disciplines will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

There will be 17 days of competitions and ceremonies, from 26 July - 11 August 2019, which will take place in 14 districts of Lima and Callao at various venues like VIDENA, Villa María Sports Center, Callao Regional Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.

The Parapan American Games will set a new standard for accessibility and inclusivity in Peru and will gather 1,890 Para athletes from 33 countries, participating in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. Competitions will take place from 23 August - 1 September 2019. 14 sports will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
