After the success of I Am Team GB following the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Team GB and Toyota are delighted to confirm that the hugely successful participation campaign will be returning this August.
I Am Team GB – The Nation’s Biggest Sports Day – will culminate each August bank holiday in 2019 and 2020 with a day of sport and physical activity. The ambition is I Am Team GB will become an ongoing, annual campaign to drive sustained growth in physical activity inspired by Team GB.
Toyota have signed up Laura Kenny as the lead ambassador for the campaign. Britain’s most successful female athlete of all time will be featuring in marketing activity encouraging people across the UK to join the team and get the nation moving. National Lottery funded Team GB athletes will also be present at events across the country to inspire more people to take part.
The weekend will also celebrate the role of volunteers in helping more people to be active in their communities up and down the country. Team GB and Toyota will be celebrating these volunteers who will be called I Am Team GB Games Makers, bringing the spirit of London 2012 and inspiring people to be active over that weekend.
